Intrusive- a type of ingenuous rock that generally contains large crystals and forms when magma cools slowly beneath Earth's Surface.


Cemented- Sedimentary rocks created when dissolved minerals, such as calcite, filled in gaps between sediments and glued particles together.

Compacted- Pressure-hardened


Fossils- the preserved trace, imprint, or remains of a plant or animal

Contact Metamorphism- a change in the texture, structure, or chemical composition of a rock due to contact with magma.





Foliation- (geology) the arrangement of leaf like layers in a rock



Regional metamorphism- A change in the texture, structure, or chemical composition of a rock due to changes in temperature and pressure over a large area, generally as a result of tectonic forces.
