Hello Highline Families,
If you can believe it we are down to our final 40 days of school! We have lots of end of the year activities to prepare for and we are still teaching and learning!
Keep the following dates in mind:

- If you have any ideas or comments you would like to share with our admin team, please let us know by attending the next Coffee with the Principal on April 15 at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm. Links available in the times.
- Check out the Kids Heart Challenge fundraiser updates from Mrs. Moore below. We have already raised $100 dollars, and we have three weeks to go!
- We start CMAS testing on Tuesday, April 6th with our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Check out the reminders below from Assistant Principal Ruiz.
As always, I am thankful for our continued support from all of our Highline families and students, and it is my honor to serve the Highline Community students, families, and staff.
We are Highline - Proud, Strong and United!
Sincerely,
Diana
From Assistant Principal Gaby Ruiz
Hello families,
As a reminder our 3rd and 5th grade students will take CMAS Reading tests and our 4th grade students will take the CMAS Math tests on Tuesday, April 6th; Wednesday, April 7th; and Thursday, April 8th. Families of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students, please check your email for both opt-out and opt-in information.
While this is held harmless year (meaning the scores do not count against our school), we still want to encourage those students, who will partake in the assessments to do their best. Provide your student a good night's rest and healthy breakfast at home or at school!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me as the School Assessment Coordinator at gruiz@cherrycreekschools.org.
Sincerely,
Gaby
Kids Heart Challenge - March 29 through April 23
Dear Families of Highline,
We are three weeks away from the close of our Kids Heart Challenge. Students are excited to be learning how to be heart healthy. Please help us keep others healthy and save lives by asking for donations.
Go to http://www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge to join our school in taking a healthy pledge. Then, share your heart-healthy pledge by sending at least 10 emails or ecards to your family, friends and neighbors, and ask them to pass it on.
I know I can count on you. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Moore, PE Teacher

Social Emotional Learning Curriculum
This month, our schoolwide theme is problem solving. During school, we’ll be reminding students to use the Second Step Problem-Solving Steps:
· S: Say the problem
· T: Think of solutions
· E: Explore consequences
· P: Pick the best solution
As you can see, the first letter of each step spells the word ”step.” Remembering “step” helps students solve problems with each other in safe and respectful ways.
Second Step lessons specifically teach students to use each step and reinforce the message that solutions need to be safe and respectful. You will be receiving Home Links about the steps that describe why solving problems is important and including fun activities to do with your child to help him or her learn and practice the steps. We hope the steps will be helpful for you and your child when there are problems at home.
