Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of May 29th, 2022
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
"Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!"
Welcome June, the last month of school. The days will fly by with fun-filled activities that we have in store for our students. We kicked off this month with our last grade level field trip and an AWESOME Fun Day! As we close out the year, we are thankful for what we have been able to accomplish thus far. Our staff and students have been through many challenges and through it all they have prevailed. That's the spirit of an EHT Eagle, we continue to spread our wings and fly.
Fun Day was an ABSOLUTE success. We are thankful for the PE teachers who organized the games, Parents' Club who sponsored many of the fun activities, our volunteers for assisting with the games, our staff for leading, MIGHTY the Eagle for the surprise visit, security for keeping us safe, maintenance/custodial team for keeping everything sparkling, and our students for their bright smiles ALL day. (Check out our newsletter next week for Fun Day pictures and videos).
As we move into the next two weeks, we will be taking part in the #doitfordrayke challenge promoting kindness and positive interaction with peers. Students will be recognized throughout the two weeks for demonstrating acts of kindness towards their classmates and others. We asked that you join us in teaching the students that Kindness is Key!
Have a great weekend!

Congratulations to the Davenport Honors Choir for being selected to sing at the Summer Pops concert this summer!
CLIMATE & CULTURE
Mrs. Collado’s 2nd grade class actively engaged in lessons while answering questions and giving feedback to our CAP presenters. Thank you to our guidance counselor, Mrs. Errickson, for organizing the CAP visits to Davenport Elementary.
#DOITFORDRAYKE Challenge
From June 6th through June 17th our school will be participating in a #DoItForDrayke challenge. Davenport Complex will focus on and educate our students on being a good friend and always being kind to one another, despite our differences. Each morning the students will hear about a different character education trait over the announcements.
For these ten days, students will have the opportunity to earn a purple ticket by displaying acts of kindness, being a good friend, and for showing respect and leadership. On June 17th each homeroom teacher will randomly pull a purple ticket to choose a student to win a #DoItForDrayke book bag. These book bags are sponsored by EHT community members and parents Dominic and Andrea Pugliese and their charity “Built with Love,” along with 724 Bagger Co. A huge thank you to them for supporting and promoting a very relevant and worthy cause.
