How many gallons of gasoline do cars use each year in the United States?
We estimated 900,000,000 gallons of gasoline used each year.
In 2014, about 136.78 billion gallons (or 3.26 billion barrels) of gasoline were consumed in the United States, a daily average of about 374.74 million gallons (or 8.92 million barrels).
According to the Oil Price Information Service, quoted in an Associated press article, an average household will have spent more than $4,000 on gasoline by the time it toasts the New Year.
