7 New Things at Iredell Crosby Scholars for 2020-21
Some of these are due to the continuing pandemic, and others are just part of the growing process for the program!
New Middle School Coordinator
Ashley Scott joined our staff on July 1st as the new Middle School Coordinator. She is an alumna of Statesville High School. Ashley completed her bachelor's degree in communication at UNC-Greensboro. In May 2020, she completed her master's degree in communication at Morehead State University in Kentucky. Ashley loves being outdoors, whether it's riding dirt bikes or going for runs. She is a dog-mom of 3; Chevy, Magic and a new puppy Zola.

Another staff change
Ms. Turner-Moore is nearly completion of her graduate program. In order to complete her internships, she has to cut her hours at Crosby.
Aaliyah Turner Moore
She moved to a part-time position focused on communications.
Still in the Office
Aaliyah will be in the office a few hours each week to help with our website and e-mail messages.
A New Staff Position
Near Peer Senior Advisor
We have a new Near Peer Senior Advisor! What does that mean? Noah Baldwin, the newest staff member is a May 2020 graduate of North Carolina State University. He has recently experienced many of the struggles of our current seniors and can give a unique perspective to seniors.. Noah will be working closely with Jenniffer Jamison, Senior Program Coordinator, to become an expert advisor! He will be working a 30-hour week with Crosby Scholars. During his time off, he will continue to take beautiful photographs and put his Art & Design skills to work.

Virtual everything--from academies, training sessions, and senior advising to volunteer work.
Crosby Club Meetings
We will start the Crosby Club meetings in the fall and continue to hold them online!

Several topics were introduced this summer with many more to come!

A New Way to Learn About Iredell Crosby Scholars
Since we won't be able to hold our Orientation/Open House as we did in past years, we have created an online "Onboarding" course. This course will help you (students and parents) become familiar with the program, requirements, and optional activities. You can also earn a bonus point toward a "Star Badge"!

Drive-In Days
Come by in your car to pick up materials like your Passport to Success. Meet staff members and ask questions in person! First date: 8/11/20 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Goodwill Building, 124 Fourth Crescent Place (next to The Home Depot), Statesville
