Dear,Parents/Guardians, please note, during Keystone Testing, students who are testing are to arrive by 8:00 am. Students who are not testing are to be in school no later than 11:00 am. First period instruction starts at 11:00 am, and advisory is at the end of the day. On Friday, there were far too many students who arrived well after 11:00 am. This cannot happen this week. Please ensure that your students leave home in time to arrive at school by 11:00 am.

Palumbo Home & School Association Happenings
The Griffin Fund
The HSA recently launched The Griffin Fund - an annual fund that will support specific needs of the school. This year the fund will support Palumbo Athletics. To learn more about how you can support this initiative, visit The Griffin Fund website.
Palumbo Self-Care Stations
Throughout Palumbo, students have access to self-care stations where they can get snacks and self-care items. Help us fill these stations by checking out the Amazon Wish List which was provided by Ms. DiGiuseppe.

Joining the Palumbo HSA is a great opportunity to build our school community. Membership dues help fund senior scholarships, resources and events for Palumbo students and staff. Weekly Shout-Outs
To the Lady Griffins Basketball Team who won the "Philly Got Game" Holiday Tournament on December 23 against Freire Charter. Score was 63 - 52. Congratulations to the entire team and to the following players who were recognized for their scoring achievements: Junior Aisha Muibi (MVP for entire tournament) and Sophomore Bea Kaeli (MVP for championship game).
ATTENDANCE BURST COMPETTION
All students present in advisory from 12/8 - 1/12 will be entered into a raffle for a gift card. There will be one winner from each grade!

Our programs vary in length and all offer scholarships. Participants must be rising juniors or rising seniors during the summer of 2024, and they must be 16 years of age by the program start date. Programs begin in June 2024.

2024 Provost’s Summer Mentorship Program
The Provost’s Summer Mentorship Program (SMP) is a signature initiative of the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Engagement.
PROGRAM DATES:
July 8, 2024 – August 2, 2024
Designed to increase college access for first-generation, low-income, and other under-represented students; SMP is for rising 10th grade, and 11th grade applicants, enrolled in a Philadelphia (and surrounding area) High Schools, including Public, Charter, Private, Catholic and/or Virtual Schools.
The Provost’s Summer Mentorship Program offers insight, exploration, and hands-on experience in the fields of study offered in the following Penn schools and/or programs:
Dental Medicine
Penn Engineering / Robotics
Penn Engineering / Bioengineering
Carey School of Law
Perelman School of Medicine
Nursing School
SMP, in its eighteenth year, was established to inspire and encourage young Philadelphia scholars to view college as an attainable goal and encourage students to seek enrollment in four-year, post-secondary, educational institution of their choice. Important - Medical Forms need updating
There are two medical forms that need yearly updating for all students. If you have not already done so, please complete the medical information form and the med-1 form which allows our nurse to administer medication to students while in school.
If your student tests positive for Covid, the reporting form can be found here as well.
