This Month in the Library
I hope you are having a wonderful start to the Fall, and maybe even finding some time to curl up with a good book. I have been fortunate to be able to offer Library class for students in grades 1-8 in their classrooms starting last month. It has been a great joy and delight getting to know your students. Topics covered this month have included; parts of the book and book care, using Sora, fiction genres and media balance.
The physical library is still a work in progress, it is about 42% cataloged and my volunteers and I will begin labeling and barcoding books in the next couple of weeks. I am so excited for our students to have access to books in our school library later this fall. I appreciate your patience as I continue to work to make this happen. In the meantime, please remember that your student can access e-books on their Chromebooks using the SORA app. For print books, consider using the curbside checkout services at Tacoma Public Library or Pierce County Library System and buying books through our virtual Scholastic Book Fair later this month. See details at the bottom of this newsletter.
I am in the school building on Mondays and Thursdays each week. The best way to contact me is by email at email@example.com. Please feel free to reach out to me or Ms. Dempsey with any questions or concerns.
Have a great rest of your week and Read, Read and Read some more!
