2020 is (finally) over. While 2020 proved to be a tough year, let's use the lessons we learned to prepare for a better 2021. Our HMS students have continued to hang in there with remote learning, social distancing, missing friends and family and learning how to thrive during a pandemic. That's a lot to ask of anyone. For this reason, HMS teachers and staff are readily prepared to support your child's academic and social-emotional needs.

Please continue to support your child by staying connected to HMS. Information for connecting to Schoology and PowerSchool is below. If you aren't receiving text blasts, call the school (708-458-7590) and update your phone number. Also, check the district and school website frequently.

The social work and mental health team at Summit District 104 would like to ask you to complete the Social Emotional Screener for all the children in your household by January 18th. The screener is a tool that the team is using to best support the children and families of our district. Depending on the results a social worker may be reaching out to your family. Argo High School will be sharing information regarding a Parent Freshman Information Session, tentatively scheduled for the end of January. More information will be shared as plans are finalized.

If you are not tech savvy, don't worry! Please tell your child to open Schoology on their Chromebook. Tell them to click on the calendar. You will be able to see all assignments for each subject. Then tell them to open PowerSchool on their Chromebook. You will be able to see their grades there as well. Finally, tell them to open their school email on their Chromebook. Read through their email with them. Your child knows all of their login information--they use it every day.

Try doing this weekly, perhaps on Sundays--your child will thank you...later!
