Inaugural Black Knowledge Bowl
10 teams from 10 school sites = 10 times the excitement. School Site Black Knowledge Bowl teams will compete at one of the preliminary rounds in hopes to score high enough to be one of the 5 finalists to go on to the final round. This free community event is designed to foster Parent, Family, and Community Engagement & Outreach. Join us at Eastside High School Friday, April 1st at 5:30 PM

SOAR High School Celebrates 3 Dell Scholars!
SOAR High School is excited to announce 3 Dell Scholarship winners! George Nakoud, Kimberly Girola-Guzman, and Brenda Gonzalez will all receive:
a $20,000 scholarship that you can use to cover college costs
Personalized, multi-faceted support for academic, financial, and emotional life challenges
A laptop computer with a four-year warranty
Textbook credits ($2,000 in Chegg credits over 4 years) to be used for textbook purchases and rentals and/or textbook solutions

Assemblyman Tom Lackey Celebrates Career Tech Student of the Month
Last week Eastside High School, the AVUHSD CTE team, and California State Assemblyman Tom Lackey recognized Ximena Mondragon for being CTE’s Student of the Month! Ximena is doing an outstanding job in our Education and Social Service Careers Academy and is preparing to be one of our future leaders. Way to go Ximena!
Palmdale High Hosts College & Career Fair
Palmdale High School hosted a College & Career Fair last week. Students met with representatives from UCs, CSUs, private universities, trade schools, businesses, military, and first responders! On-site interviews were also held for summer hiring by local businesses.
