JUNIORS!
SAT/ACT Prep Course
Victor Senior High School is offering a Prep Class to help Juniors learn study skills and test taking strategies that can help improve their performance on the Spring SAT and ACT College Admissions Tests. This prep course will begin in February and continue through March. STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND ALL SIX SESSIONS HELD ON THE FOLLOWING SATURDAYS FROM 8:30AM - 11:45AM: 2/1, 2/8, 2/29, 3/7, 3/14 and 3/21.
Students should bring a pen or pencil and a calculator and will be expected to complete practice assignments between sessions!
The cost of this Prep Class is $90.00 which includes the instructor fee, SAT and ACT teaching materials and snacks. Please note, the $90.00 does not include the registration fee for taking the SAT and ACT tests. You will need to sign up for the SAT test through www.collegeboard.com and for the ACT test through www.actstudent.org. It is suggested that students register online for the May or June SAT or ACT (not March) for best results in order to complete the Prep Class before they test.
Registration and payment are due by Friday, January 24, 2020. Enrollment will be confirmed by e-mail if a valid e-mail address is provided below. We will post the list of enrolled students outside the Main Office the Friday before classes start.
Registration forms were mailed home to all Juniors at the beginning of December but can also be downloaded below, downloaded from the Counseling website or obtained from Mrs. Stone.

Naviance Advanced College Search
Over the past few weeks, Mrs. Zollo has been visiting the 11th grade English classes to start students on the college search process. Students are using the Naviance Advanced College Search to find colleges that meet students' criteria for location, major, size, athletics etc. Students should be adding possible colleges to their Naviance "thinking about" list. They should also continue this research throughout the year, reading about undergraduate majors, internship, research, experiential learning and other opportunities. For your reference, the Advanced College Search instruction sheet, College Planning Checklist and College Application Checklist are attached below.
In addition to the online research, you may want to plan visits to college campuses. Many colleges offer Junior Open Houses in the Spring that you may want to attend. If you are traveling over any of the upcoming vacations, you may want to schedule some official college visits through the college admissions offices as part of your trip.
