The Buzz at Westbrook School

From the Principal...

Dear Westbrook Families,

I thank everyone who participated in parent-teacher conferences over the past few weeks. Seeing so many families in the building meeting with teachers and visiting the PTO Scholastic book fair was wonderful. I am grateful to the fantastic Westbrook staff who worked long hours and organized information to share with families. I also want to thank the PTO again for the delicious meals provided to the Westbrook staff on all three days of conferences. We have very generous families in our community.

Mount Prospect Fire Department’s Public Education Officer, Monika Korzun, will be providing Fire Fighter Friendly presentations to our first-grade and kindergarten students in the coming weeks. Students will travel to the music room to participate in the fire safety presentation. As always, please reach out with any questions.

This Fall has been unusually warm. I want to remind parents that as the weather gets cooler, it is essential that students dress appropriately for recess. We go outside unless the "feels like" temperature is 15 degrees or lower, so students must have warm clothes. The students enjoy the cooler snowy days when they wear boots, snow pants, hats, and gloves. Please write your child’s last name on a tag in their coat so they do not get lost.

Parents of first graders and kindergarteners, please check your child’s backpack today for the first-trimester report card.

I’d like to thank all our Veterans for their service as we celebrate Veterans day today.

For your Children,

Danielle Crandall
