St. Viator Parish School
Viator Voice: March 30, 2020
It's a WACKY world, but we are all in this together!
We have received notification from the Nevada Department of Education that these distant learning days will count in the required 180 days of schools. Therefore, It is critically important that you are aware that attendance is being taken on a daily basis via Plus Portals (daily check-in, true false question). In order to be marked present you MUST complete this required check-in activity from your homeroom teacher.
Parents or Students in grades 6th through 8th
Only Parents have login for grades PK through 5th
If you or your student are having problems logging into Plus Portals please let your teacher know the issue, so that they may mark you present, then email email@example.com with your specific issue.
We will be reaching out via email, text and phone calls to follow up on attendance issues.

It seems that things are going well, all things considered. Classwork and homework are reported as overall not too much or too difficult; although, we see a few areas of growth for which we are working to address. There are a few parents that note too much or not enough and teachers are aware to reach out. If you don't hear from them early this week, please send them an email and let them know directly.
We are reminding teachers that the school day runs from 8 am to 3 pm. Thus, we have asked that they leave their virtual rooms and pick up any emails or remind notifications during the next school day.
Efficient collection of work and monitoring assessment is high on our agenda. Teachers are trying a few different methods. Stay tuned and stay well!
