Tuesday, Sep. 13th, 6pm

612 North Rusk Street

Did you know that your child needs to know Thirty Million Words by the time they are 4 years old? Are you worried your child may not have reached that mark and timeline? What have we learned? What can we do? Mandy Lashbrook, Lead Teacher for the Brazos River RDSPD Elementary will present on the Thirty Million Words book by Dr. Dana Suskind.

A light dinner will be served to all participants. There will be a drawing for a free copy of the book.

We Love Our Interpreters and Communication Assistants!

The Brazos River RDSPD would not exist without the passionate dedication from our Sign Language Interpreters and Communication Assistants. BJ Brann, Laura Booth, D'Juana Cephus, Pam Ferguson, Connie Gill, Meagan Glass, Melissa Harward, Teresa Hobbs, Lindsey King, Rachel Langston, Addie Little, Melissa Mello, Mendi Winn, and Sarah Ybarra (Not all pictured)

Congratulations to Our Retirees, Laura Cornell and Janet Law!

Laura Cornell, served in the Brazos River RDSPD as an aide, a Communication Assistant and for the last 8 years as a Deaf/Blind Intervener at our Granbury site. Laura touched the lives of so many of our students. We wish her the best!

Janet Law, one of our amazing Itinerant Teachers, decided to retire after many years dedicated to Deaf/hard of hearing children. Janet has promised to continue helping with our many Brazos River events we have throughout the year.

Chick Fil A Employee

After a lot of hard work in the Roo Force Program, Tristen Kent was hired by Chick Fil A. We are so proud of his hard work. Thank you Chick Fil A of Weatherford for being a such a great community partner!

Outstanding Program Supervisor of the Year was awarded to Brazos River RDSPD's Angela Belding this summer at the Statewide Convention in San Marcos, Texas.

"Angela Belding is truly an inspiration to everyone with whom she comes in contact - and that is many - and she continues to do so even after 30+ years in the field. Not only does Angela lead and serve Brazos River RDSPD with a heart and passion like no other, she dedicates herself with the same energy to Imagination Texas, SWCED, TAPED, TEHDI, and the TCC Interpreter Training Program. With her kindness and firm sense of rightness, she serves as a role model for everyone. Angela's efforts not only benefit the children, educators, and parents of our program, but deaf education as a whole throughout the state of Texas. We all reap the fruit of her labors and commitment to children who are Deaf or hard of hearing." -quote from the program
