Madonna Catholic School
Parent Bulletin. June 25th - June 29th
Heartfelt thanks......
I have truly enjoyed my time at Madonna and through the hard work of parents, teachers and students, we have truly created a Primary Learning Centre that focuses on academics as well as the joy and love for learning. You all have a share in the pride that we feel when we walk through the doors everyday.
I will miss you all very much, and will be bringing forth many of the ideas and practices we use at Madonna as I work with the community at Our Lady of the Angels, to transition it into a K-4 Primary Learning Centre as well.
I wish to thank the staff for the love, care and devotion that they show to all of their students each day. I wish to thank all the parents and families whose love and passion for their children's learning is so very evident .
Above all, I want to thank every student in the school. Children, you have taught me about love and joy, compassion and kindness, and above all, you have taught me to continue to trust God, and that every day is a gift just waiting to be unwrapped.
Much love, and many blessings,
Mrs. Littlemore.

Exciting Program Changes for September!
Rather than try to run noon hour clubs where teachers and students only have 20 minutes to participate in choir, earth club, garden club or running club, we are going to set up a variety of clubs that will run for 80 minutes on Friday afternoons, that students can sign up for. They then participate in that club with other students and a teacher. After the 6 weeks they can then choose a different club, or register for the same one. FUN!
You are probably asking, "What about their school work?". The government asks that all that we do in our schools works into both Literacy and Numeracy. All the clubs will have outcomes that students meet regarding Programs of Study, and there will be an assessment piece to all clubs.
We are excited about taking time on Friday afternoons to run options for students and provide different opportunities for your children.
Some of the clubs might be
- cooking
- running club
- math games
- choir
- earth club
- garden club
- maker-spaces
- tinker-lab
- creative writing
- technology
- arts and crafts
- ukulele!
Some options might have a small fee to cover the cost of the materials, while many others are free.
We will still be offering swimming lessons in the fall ( full fee to be charged) as well as inline skating, faith and wellness day, and many more activities within the school day.
With these and all the great academic classes in the school, your children are receiving the best education possible at Madonna.
Stay tuned for more information on all of these programs!
Reminder, no school supplies to buy!
These 'optional items' ( Kleenex, hand wipes, headphones, and the like), will still be requested for children to bring in, however they are not 'mandatory' but appreciated in the classroom.
There will still be fees for Swimming lessons, field trips, or some projects...however...it is very important to note that these are Optional for your child......but, if you choose not to pay for the activity, your child will not participate.
