Dear Brooklyn Collaborative Families,

We want to give a huge shout out to our newly elected 2021-2022 BCS PTA Executive Board.

We deeply appreciate and are thankful to our hard-working and dedicated parent volunteers who generously give of their time, talent, and passion to support the BCS community!

Please mark your calendars and join us for the PTA meetings, which are generally held on the second Tuesday of each month. Stay tuned for a list of dates.

2021-2022 BCS PTA Executive Board


SHIVANA WEATHERS is the proud Momma of a rising 12th grader and 9th grader at Brooklyn Collaborative. Shivana has served on our SLT for the past 3 years. She is a former retail professional buyer who left the industry to focus on spending more time with her family. Shivana made a promise to get more involved and she intends to. As the mother of two children of color, Shivana stressed her need to make sure that THEY are represented. As the Co-President of the PTA, Shivana committed to representation and supporting our children and school administration to ensure that they have all that they need to get the most out of their BCS experience!

BRIAM MOSER has a rising 12th grade son at BCS. Briam has been active on PTA Executive Boards at 610 Henry since their son started at BNS in kindergarten, and has stayed busy ever since. He served as the Co-President of the PTA during the 2020-2021 school year. Briam works in advertising as producer at McCann Health.


KAREN BAGNINI and her spouse-partner, Barry, have a rising 11th grader at BCS. Karen describes herself as a white-identified, cis-gender female, creative arts therapist and clinical social worker who has practiced in the Boston + New York City public school systems and out-patient mental health clinics for 23 years. She loves to cook, grow plants/herbs/veggies, learn new things, make art/music, watch movies, and lovingly and thoughtfully question all elements of the status quo while centering the belief that we need to decolonize how we measure success (apparently, she also tends to write very long sentences).

JENNIFER GARCIA has been a part of the 610 Henry community since 1996. Her son Johnny is a senior. Her older son Joaquín also went to BCS. Jennifer teaches pre-k and is an IEP case manager at BNS. Her passion is finding projects for "our little ones" to do with our teenagers. Jennifer describes herself as an anti-racist educator.


TANYA KEEFE is a mom to Harry, an 8th grader. This is Tanya's 2nd year serving as treasurer on the PTA. She loves being part of the community at BCS. She sells real estate and helps people find new places to live. Tanya loves her dog Coleman who she adopted from Puerto Rico!
FRANK VENTURA and his partner Sarah have a rising 6th grader and 8th grader at BCS. Frank is the founder of an IT firm that specializes in working with non-profits and grant making organizations. He would love to use his finance and business operations experience as a member of the PTA Executive Board.


VENUS DENNISON has a a child at BCS who is a rising senior and another child who graduated from BCS. Venus is an award-winning and versatile senior creative leader with a master’s degree in Design Management from Pratt Institute and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Syracuse University. She is a proud track mom!

GREGG MITCHELL has a rising 7th grader; this is their second year at BCS. Gregg shared that his family loves the BCS community and are eager to be involved and be helpful. Gregg sought to be a Member-At-Large in order to be an active participant in his son's education, and to be an active member of this thriving BCS community. He stated that we all are in the world, so he is committed to helping to make it the place we want it to be!
PAM NOEL has been actively involved in the BCS community for the past three years and is excited to serve as a member-at-large. She has a a child at BCS who is a rising senior and another child who is a sophomore in college. Pam is a graduate from the Borough of Manhattan Community College. She is a business assistant in the accounting department for Grace Church School in Manhattan. Pam loves spending time with her children, reading books, and traveling.
SARA ROTHSTEIN held a member-at-large position this past year. She shared that it was a privilege to be part of this process as an executive board member of the PTA, during this challenging time. As a creative arts therapist, Sara says that she cares deeply about social and emotional health which translates to the participation and well-being of our children, families, and staff. Sara is excited to be a part of the PTA, along with her 7th grader-to-be, She also has a child entering the 9th grade as a new member of the BCS community!
