Lyman Elementary

February 2022

A Note From Mr. McPhee

Dear Lyman Families,

As we approach the halfway point of the school year, we are excited about a bright spring and a strong finish to 2022.

I would like to remind you of our before school study table and extended learning opportunity for all third through sixth graders. The study table meets four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:40-9:10 in our library. Our staff will work with your child on any subject matter, as well as study and organizational skills. Please consider taking advantage of this great-extended learning opportunity.

Lyman Elementary presented to the School Board on January 24. The board was impressed with all the learning and activities we have in place for student engagement. I want to thank Mr. Swanson for his presentation on our “Walk to Read” intervention block. This reading invention time is showing great gains in our students’ phonemic awareness, fluency and comprehension.

Our district’s educational programs and operations levy is schedule for February 8. This levy supports many of our critical programs. Please remember to vote!

February has only one break from the regular schedule with President’s Day on February 21. Thankfully, the rest of the month is on a normal schedule.

I am always thankful of our parent group and their support of our school. The students are enjoying their wildcat water bottles. The next parent group meeting is on February 8 at 6pm in the school library. Please come out and join us!

Lyman is a great school because of the endless efforts of our staff and the caring community around us. Thank you for your continued support!

Have a great February! Spring is on the way!

Principal McPhee
