What's on Thursday in the computer lab?
This Thursday the new iPads will be available for preview. I will show you what is available on the iPads, we will discuss/brainstorm student usage and rules, ideas for apps and other tidbits will be shared. This same presentation will be held next Tuesday so everyone can participate. You will need to attend one of the sessions in order for you to use them with your students.
Websites of the Week
SumDog
Sumdog's free educational games motivate your students to practice math - while you have full control over what they learn. You can direct the learning for your students. www.sumdog.com
Jognog
You can choose questions from their library of over 20,000, or you can write your own questions. Once you have created your quiz, you can then provide your students with a secret code to the quiz. After completion, you have a custom review game or quiz because you can access the results through a report. www.jognog.com
Make Beliefs Comix
It is a wonderful {and free} website. Not only will it help to motivate reluctant writers, but it can also be used for teaching dialog, creative writing, social/emotional topics, and more! {There is even a section on the site just for teachers!} http://www.makebeliefscomix.com/
