JMS Curriculum In Action Night - 5.11.2022

You are invited to Jefferson Middle School's annual "Curriculum in Action" night on Wednesday, May 11th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

**Students are encouraged to bring a device with them to help showcase their work.**

This event is an opportunity for students to dialogue with their parents about what they have learned this current school year, and for parents to see the many and varied opportunities for teaching and learning. Class work representing all curricular areas will be displayed, presented, and/or demonstrated to provide parents a glimpse of the wonderful academic programs that Jefferson offers.

Please note that this program is not an opportunity for individual conferences with teachers regarding your child's progress. If you wish to speak with your child's teacher or team, about their progress, please do not hesitate to contact them by phone or email at your convenience.

The Lost and Found is full and it is time to reclaim your belongings before it is cleaned out and donated on May 13th. We will display all Lost and Found items on tables in the main hallway on Curriculum in Action night. If you are missing anything, please check the Lost and Found box by the attendance office prior to May 13th or the display tables on Curriculum In Action night.

PTA Reflections Competition

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

The theme for 2022-2023 will be "Show Your Voice!"

Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.

Students participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), High School (Grades 9-12), Special Artist (All grades welcome). Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Special Artist Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities.*
