A Message from Dr. Lowry
The start of school is only a week away! It has been an exciting week welcoming our teachers and staff back to WCJH this week. Regardless of the challenges, I can assure you that our WCJH staff is incredibly excited about the 20-21 school year. Also, we are still enrolling students daily in Katy ISD and we are still working deligently to put together a schedule that balances face-to-face classes and Katy Virtual Academy students. Rest assured, the process is going well and we are doing everything possible to ensure the safety of our WCJH staff and students. I can affirm that I have the best counselors in the district and they have been working countless hours to make it all work.
In this week's Timberwolf Times, you will find some great information and shout outs that highlight all the incredible people and events happening around WCJH. Trust me, it is going to be an exciting and unforgettable school year and I am looking forward to it!
GO TIMBERWOLVES!

Annual Enrollment Update - ACTION REQUIRED FOR ALL PARENTS
Last week, parents and guardians who have an email address on file with the District should have received a unique SnapCode for each of their enrolled students. Please be sure to check your spam folder, as the district sends the codes out in large batches and many e-mail programs tag the message a spam. Parents and guardians who have not provided an email address will receive their Snapcode by US postal mail.
If you do not receive a SnapCode yet, or you are having issues with PowerSchool Enrollment, please contact your child’s campus or submit a Help Desk ticket and a Technology staff member will contact you within 24 business hours.
When completing the Annual Student Update via Power School, parents will have the option to request a technology device and/or internet support for their children due to in-person instruction being delayed until Tuesday, September 8. Parents who selected the Katy Virtual Academy (KVA) instructional option may request a technology device and/or internet support if the request was not made when the KVA commitment form was submitted.
The deadline to complete the Annual Student Update is August 18.
If you have any questions about your student's enrollment at WoodCreek Junior High, please contact our registrar at LeahCCaffey@katyisd.org.
Timberwolf Trek - Virtual Orientation for New Students
Please Welcome AP Steph McDonald!
Hello Timberwolves! My name is Steph McDonald, and I’ll be the 7th grade/8th grade A-K Assistant Principal this year. I am looking forward to getting to work with all of you and our wonderful students and community! I was born and raised in Upstate NY, outside of Rochester. We moved to Ohio my freshman year of high school, and I then attended the University of Findlay to obtain a degree in both Secondary Education and Equestrian studies. After graduating I moved here to Houston and worked in Spring ISD for three years as a Biology teacher. I then taught KAP Biology at Cinco Ranch High School (#CPOE) until 2019. During this time I completed my Masters in Educational Administration at Texas A&M. Last year, I worked as a Testing Coordinator at Katy High School. I am so excited to be in a position where I get to work with students again- I have missed them and their quirky personalities!
Thank you PTA!!!
Congratulations to Mrs. Lutes, WCJH Coach of the Year for 2019-2020!
Mrs. Lutes teaches 6th grade math and coaches basketball, track and soccer at WCJH. She is excited to get back in the classroom! She has been teaching for 30 years, was Teacher of the Year at WCE in 2009 and WCJH Teacher of the Year in 2014. She is married and has a son that graduated from Katy HS. She loves the outdoors, coaching, and playing soccer and softball. The Timberwolf family appreciates you, Mrs. Lutes!

Katy Virtual Academy
Parents may enroll their child into KVA for the fall 2020 semester by logging into PowerSchool. The KVA enrollment option is available beginning on Monday, July 20 through Friday, August 7th, 2020. (Note that the deadline to enroll has been extended from the original deadline of August 5th.)
Students who elect to begin the school year enrolled in KVA may elect to return to in-person instruction at the end of a six-weeks (secondary) and nine-week (elementary) grading period. KVA enrolled students are not allowed to return to in-person instruction prior to the close of a grading period.
It is recommended that KVA enrolled students have a dedicated technology device with audio and camera capabilities. Broadband internet access is required as well. Please indicate on the KVA commitment form via PowerSchool if your child is in need of a device and/or internet access.
Note: Parents who plan for their children to return to campus for in-person instruction do not have to submit a commitment form.
