Creek News: March 29 - April 2, 2021

Rangers are self-directed learners, caring citizens and positive world changers.

Important Announcements

Ranger Run is THIS WEEK!

Thank you to all of our amazing families for your generous donations and work fundraising for our school! We will be able to purchase an electronic sign for RCE!

The run will be on Thursday, April 1. Unfortunately, due to the district's COVID-19 protocol, parents will not be allowed to attend the run this year.

On Thursday, please make sure your child is dressed for the weather (it will be chilly) and wearing tennis shoes.

Chick-fil-A Biscuits available Wednesday morning!

PTO will be selling Chick-fil-A biscuits for $3 each in both morning drop off areas on Wednesday, March 31, beginning at 7:00 am. Biscuits do sell out, so arrive early and have a back up plan for breakfast in case your child misses the biscuits (all children can get school breakfast for free).

Lost and Found

There are LOTS of items in the lost and found. The lost and found has been moved to the compass for this week. If your child is missing a jacket, hoodie, water bottle, etc. please tell him/her to check in the lost and found this week. All unclaimed items will be donated on Friday.

Tardy Bell rings at 7:40

The tardy bell now rings at 7:40 am (rather than 7:50) and dismissal will begin at 2:10 pm (rather than 2:00 pm). Beginning Monday, doors will be locked at 7:40, and you must walk your child into school if tardy.

Upcoming Dates

March 31: Chick-fil-A biscuit sale $3 each in car lines

April 1: Ranger Run; PTO Sonic night

April 5-9: Spring Break

April 14: report cards distributed

April 15: PTO dine out night at Zaxby's

Relay for Life

Please visit the RCES team page link to join our team. You do not have to donate to join, and we would love to have as many of our families on our team as possible!

This is a reminder that all students have a morning recess and an afternoon recess. Although we do not go out if temperatures are below freezing or it is too wet, we often go out when it is still damp out in the mornings since our students need movement more than ever this year.

Please consider keeping a change of clothes for your child in his/her book bag for days when clothes accidentally get wet on the playground.

Transportation Changes & Early Dismissals

Please make sure you communicate ALL transportation changes through a phone call to the front office at 821-4200 before 1:30 pm. Early dismissals will not be made after 1:30 pm. Do not communicate transportation changes via an email or note to the teacher.

Morning and Afternoon Car Line

  • You may use both lanes in the morning, just like we do in the afternoon. Begin the "zipper method" merging at the same point in line that the afternoon zipper merge starts.

  • You may drop off in the front car line OR the bus loop.

  • Always exit from cars along the sidewalk curb. At no time are children to exit from the left side of the vehicle.

  • Please have students ready when they reach the unloading zone. Use your time in the line to find a mask and get it on, gather book bag and lunch box, put on jackets, etc. The quicker our students exit vehicles, the quicker the line will move.

  • At no time should children be dropped off in the parking lot or sent across the crosswalk alone. An adult is required to walk the student ALL THE WAY ACROSS the crosswalk for your students' safety.

  • Parents and drivers should not leave their vehicle to assist with unloading or unbuckling students.

  • In the afternoon, parents and drivers should not leave their vehicle to assist with buckling students. If you need to assist your child with buckling, please move up to the gold cone. If you need to exit the vehicle for this, please pull into a parking space for your safety.

  • Please have car tags displayed in afternoon car line until your child is loaded.

Technology Troubleshooting Guide

We have created a RCES Family Troubleshooting Guide for our families. Please refer to this document when technology issues arise. If you still have trouble, please contact us at
