Hamilton Avenue students competed in the Connecticut Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament last Saturday. Our grades 3-5 team placed 3rd in the competition solving the problem "Pirates and the Treasure” and has been invited to represent Connecticut at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in Lansing, Michigan. Primary students competed as well. Thank you to our faculty coaches, Mrs. Byrne, Ms. McCarthy, Mrs. Rich, Ms. Stefanowicz, and Competition Judge, Mrs. Angotto. See below for some photos from the event.
Last night was Math Night at Hamilton Avenue School. We had approximately 70 people participate in this fun-filled math night. Thank you to all who participated.

Odyssey of the Mind!
AM Basketball!
Students in Kindergarten through Second grade will work on skill development and mini-games. In contrast, third through fifth-grade students will compete in mini-games and develop offensive and defensive strategies in small group games during the basketball "before" program. Mr. J and Mr. Alvarado will observe and assist students with skills and strategies to improve in basketball. The before school program will run from March 20th-April 6th from 7:30 am to 8 am daily. This program is first come, first served. The overflow of students will be directed into the Cafetorium.
...And I would be remiss if we didn't highlight the great March Madness bulletin board in the Media Center!!
