Slavery, slavery, slavery, it was a big business in the U.S. In January 1865, the 13th Amendment of the constitution was passed. It made slavery illegal in the United States of America.
There is another amendment, the 14th amendment. The 14th amendment grants that all people born in the U.S. are citizens of the United States. The government has to treat you fairly and can not limit your life, liberty, or property without following the rules.
The last amendment of the constitution I will be talking about is the 15th amendment. The 15th amendment states that men of all races, including former slaves, have the right to vote .
