Ms. Bertucci & Mrs. Wilkinson News December 7-18

Christmas Parties

Christmas parties will be on Friday, December 18th from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM. We are looking for parents that are approved volunteers to help with the party. Students are going to decorate sugar cookies and will be making 3D shapes/snow pictures with marshmallows. There are two ways to volunteer: donating items and/or assisting in classroom. Please note that if helping in classroom you must be an approved volunteer. If you are not approved, it is easy. Go to www.birdvilleschools.net and sign up on the Volunteer Partnership on the home page. . The following are items that would help our party be successful: juice boxes, icing, 25 plain sugar cookies that can be decorated, sprinkles, m&ms or anything to decorate the cookies, big and small marshmallows, toothpicks and plates/napkins. If you are able to donate any of the items please contact your child's teacher.

Rock Hunt

In science we went on a rock hunt. We have been sorting rocks according to characteristics, measuring and weighing. Each student is encouraged to go on their own rock hunt at home. Then your child needs to bring one rock no larger than their hand to class by Wednesday.

Christmas Break

Students will half days on Thursday and Friday, December 17th and 18th. School will be dismissed at 12:30 on both of these days. The students will not be eating lunch at their regular time nor will they be eating in the cafeteria, so we will not be having visitors at lunch on these two days. There will be no school from December 21st to January 1st. Hope everyone enjoys the holidays and look forward to students sharing about their holiday break in the new year.

Penguin Holiday Shop

Students will be given the opportunity to preview the Penguin Holiday shop this Friday December 11 in the morning. They will then get the opportunity to shop Wednesday morning December 16. Please send any money you would like for them to spend at the Holiday shop on December 16. The store will be open December 15 until 7:00PM if you would prefer to shop with your child.
