Summer 2022
Audubon Park School
Dear Audubon Park School Families,
We hope the start to summer has been a good one for you and your family. We're bringing you this Summer Edition Newsletter to share resources available to keep the love of learning going strong. While summer is a time to rest, relax and recharge, keeping up with academic skills over this 2 month break will allow us to start strong in August.
We're excited to announce that this summer, we're opening our Media Center to families every Tuesday and Thursday morning. We hope you'll stop by to read, engage in a fun lesson and check out books. Plus, you'll get a chance to learn about the animals in our Living Library and meet our new Media Specialist, Erin Klemowich.
This summer, our office hours will be Monday through Thursday, open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. As we begin to work on class schedules and placements for next year, if you know of any families who have NOT registered yet, please encourage them to come by the front office or contact our Registrar, Mary Inman at mary.inman@ocps.net.
Sincerely,
Trevor Honohan
Principal
Mrs. Klemowich's Summer Reading Challenge 2022
This summer APSK8 has the unique opportunity to have our students keep their skills sharp with a couple different options from IXL.com. This platform is available to all of our students via: Launchpad.ocps.net.
Students can take a diagnostic that will craft a skills plan specific to your student’s needs in reading and math. Learn how to help your studnet get started by watching the short video below.
Have your student try the Summer Boost Skill plan or IXL Summer Adventures. These skills plans were created to highlight and target skills that your student will be practicing in the next grade level.
