Many Hands, One Mason!!
November 17, 2019
Dear Mason Families,
We strive to communicate as much as possible at Mason. Please continue to read the communication bulletins/emails our staff sends home weekly. Our staff puts a lot of time into making sure our families know exactly what their learner is doing at school. The weekly newsletter is also a great opportunity for our families to reinforce the skills that are being taught at school. For our learners to reach their full potential it is imperative that everyone is involved in helping with their development. Don't forget, you and your learner should be reading every night for at least 20 minutes. Click the link below for some questions you can ask your learner while you are reading with them.

Mason School is also collecting can tabs off of canned drinks in support of raising money for the Ronald McDonald House that helps families with children that are sick in the hospital. A bag was sent home with the label shown below. We can all make a difference by popping the tabs off our old cans and having your child bring them to school! Thanks for getting involved!

Morning Line Up
Families, please make sure you are connecting with your child about their behavior at morning lineup. Students on the playground before 9:05 am on Mondays and 8:20 am on Tues.-Fri. must be supervised by an adult. Please have a conversation with your child tonight that they are to line up, facing forward when the whistle blows and keep their hands and bodies to themselves. Should your child have difficulty following the rules, we will look for an alternative line up plan for them. Thanks in advance for your support!
Colder weather:
Arrival & Dismissal
Arrivals:
All students should line up on the playground. Please do NOT enter the building to go to their lockers at this time.
Dismissals:
Please meet your students outside for end of day dismissals. It can't be helped, we understand appointments happen during the school day. Please remember to call the attendance line for early dismissals, the attendance line is open 24 hours a day. Teachers are trying to wrap up instruction and get the students ready to leave so, we would appreciate it if all arraignments were handled before 2:15PM. The more notice you give the better. Thank you!
Mason Choir News
MASON CHOIR
This is an optional group for students who enjoy singing and working through challenging music with their friends. Choir provides presentation opportunities that enrich our classroom learning and further increase public confidence.
This year, Mason Choir will focus on adding percussion and other creative elements to vocal music. (I have an undergraduate degree in Percussion and I am excited to explore some new textures with the students!)
Mason Choir will meet each A Day from 11:25-12:05. If A Day is a Monday, Choir will not usually meet. Our first rehearsal is Thursday, November 21!
The choir will perform in the Spring Vocal Music Concert, as well as at other informal performances. In the past this has included performances at various school athletic events in GP.
Any 4th or 5th grader may join Choir!
Safety and Service will be covered during the Choir period. Students may confidently join Choir knowing that lunch will be smoothly covered while they sing.
Please fill out this Google form for your student before the first rehearsal: https://forms.gle/minaoFAN9GoQhAmS7
Any questions, please email Mr. Hipple.
