Milk and Cookies Event

All students are invited to hear a few of our Silver Springs staff read their favorite books and enjoy some Milk and Cookies on Wednesday, March 25th from 6:00-7:00pm. Paper RSVP forms will not be sent home this year, the sign up will be digital instead. Simply click the button below to access the Milk and Cookies Google Form to RSVP for this fun event! Please RSVP by Friday, March 20th to attend the event.

Art to Remember!

Time to get CREATIVE! Art to Remember is a great fundraiser where you will have the opportunity to buy keepsakes customized with your child’s artwork. There are over 40 items to choose from. It makes a great gift for any upcoming holiday or birthday! Feel free to check out the website for more information and products at, ArtToRemember.com.

The DUE DATE for all artwork is March 2nd! Student’s will be bringing home a blank white sheet of paper with instructions, In their Monday envelopes this week. Please use the paper provided and be sure to write the child’s first and last name and their teacher’s name on the back of their paper! The artwork can be given to their teacher or dropped off in the office.

3rd Grade Music Concert - Date Change

We were recently made aware that the 5th Grade Parent Orientation at Meads Mill Middle School is the same night as our 3rd Grade Music Concert. Therefore, we are going to reschedule the 3rd Grade Concert to Monday, March 30th to avoid any conflicts for our families.

We will present "The Day the Crayons Quit" on Monday, March 31st at 6:30pm (students arrive at 6:10). Students should plan to wear a plain white shirt and blue jeans. Each student has a special part for the concert, and there will be volunteer opportunities available shortly. Please contact Mrs. Kreiss (kreisskr@northvilleschools.org) if you have any questions!


Northville Parents of African American Students (NPAAS) - Tutoring

Northville Parents of African American Students (NPAAS) is providing Tutoring at the Northville District Library this winter. Reading is provided for students in grades Pre-K - 3rd, and Math for students in grades 4th - 8th. Sessions will be held in the Friends Community Room on Saturdays from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Sessions begin February 8th and the cost is $10.00 per student for each 6-week session of tutoring and materials. $25 family max. All students are welcome. Brownie Troop - Book Drive

The Silver Springs 3rd grade Girl Scout Brownie Troop is holding a children’s book drive February 5-April 3. We are partnering with Rx for Reading Detroit to distribute the books collected.

Rx for Reading Detroit is a non-profit literacy initiative that works to expand access to

children’s books and support families in reading with their children. They distribute

approximately 2,000 children’s books a month with the help of community partners,

including low-income health, dental, and WIC clinics, homeless shelters, local schools

and Head Start programs and community centers.

The girls have set a goal to collect 450 books. There are collection boxes in front of

the main office and in the library at the school. We are looking for all gently used

books from board books up to teenage level books. Please help us synergize to reach

our goal!

13th annual Northville Mustang Baseball spring training youth camp

Get ready for the 2020 baseball season! The 13th annual Northville Mustang Baseball spring training youth camp will take place Saturday and Sunday March 14th and 15th from 9:00am to 12:00pm Campers will learn in a safe and structured environment using progressive and organized drills. Its a great opportunity to interact with the Northville Mustang coaching staff ad the 2020 Mustang Varsity team.


Northville Youth Football Association

The Northville Youth Football Association (NYFA) is a non-profit organization committed to teaching the fundamentals of football and cheerleading in a positive, safe and FUN environment. The Colts and Stallions are looking for new players and cheerleaders to fill their teams/units for the 2020 season. New player and cheerleader registration begins Monday, March 1st, 2020. Teams/units are filled on a first come, first served basis based on address/middle school affiliation. (i.e., Hillside = Colts and Meads Mill = Stallions) Practices will start at a yet TBD date. Games are played on weekends in late August through early November. All home games are played at Tom Holzer Ford Field (Northville High School football field). Camp Trotter 2020

The American Legion Northville is sponsoring sending children to Camp Trotter again in 2020. We will send up to 4 children this year.The camp is normally $250, the American Legion will pay the fee. It's open to boys and Girls age 7 to 12.
