It’s Red Ribbon Wellness Week: Staff and ASB have organized fun and engaging lessons, activities to highlight the importance of making healthy choices, connecting with others, living the 8 Keys, and being an upstander. Thank you for continuing these conversations at home!
Grading Period 1 ends on Friday, October 25: Please remember that although the grading period ends on Friday 10/25, teachers are still in the process of scoring work until Thursday, Oct 31st. Final/official progress report grades will be available for viewing on Synergy on Friday, November 1st.
Parent Teacher Student Conferences are Nov. 5-7
Nov. 5: Modified student day 8:20 am-12:15 pm
Nov.6: Regular student day 8:20 am-1:41 pm

Progress Report: Final/official progress report grades will be available for viewing on Synergy on Friday, November 1st.
Parent Teacher Student Conferences are November 5-7: We look forward to meeting with parents and students during this time. Because teachers have 100+ students, we request you only schedule conferences with classroom teachers where your child is struggling academically. Students are asked to attend the conference.
How to sign up: You can sign up online only. Please do not contact the front office. They do not have access to teacher schedules. Note: Same day scheduling is not available. You will not be able to sign up for a conference that will occur within a 12 hour window.
The online sign up link will be provided in next week's Triton News and will go live on Wednesday, Oct. 30th at noon. You will receive an additional email on Wednesday morning, and the link will also be posted on our website and on each teacher’s PowerSchool page.

Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) : CMS is please to have MFLC Lisa Falletta on our campus this year. All MFLC's are masters or doctorate-level licensed counselors available in the school setting to provide a range of supports to address the unique challenges of military students and families.

Girl Scout Troop 5548 is collecting old and gently used Halloween costumes to be donated to the Monarch School for underprivileged children in San Diego. CMS PTO Fundraiser – HOLIDAY WREATH SALE
Get a beautiful live, fresh, gorgeous holiday wreath. Gift friends, loved ones, and clients with a wreath, tabletop tree, or candlelit centerpiece all while supporting Coronado Middle School PTO.
Why? Help subsidize fieldtrips for all grades, fund 6th grade Olympics, 6th grade Drug Store, 8th grade Promotion, Library books, scholarships for field trips, and more.
When? Order forms and payment are due back to school by October 31, 2019.
Delivery of wreaths will be the week of December 2-6, 2019.

PTO Halloween Treats for Staff:
This Halloween let's give CMS teachers and staff "treats" they truly need! Please donate "teacher supplies!" Items such as tissues, hand sanitizer, wipes, etc. in lieu of candy for Halloween.
Use the SIGN UP LINK, and please drop off the items in the CMS front office anytime between now and October 31st at 9:00am.
Messages from Assistant Principal
Lost and Found: Items are kept in Granzer Hall and are available for students to look through every Friday at lunch when they're set out in the quad. At the end of each 9-week grading period, all unclaimed items will be donated. Please encourage your student to check the lost and found when one of their items has gone missing. We currently have a lot of swim gear!! All unclaimed items will be donated on November 1st.
Bus Passes: Students must show their bus pass in order to ride the bus in the morning and the afternoon. Students without a pass will not be allowed on the bus for safety reasons. If students need a replacement pass, they can see Mrs. Ellison in the front office. Replacement passes are $1.00.
CSF Online Auction Is still LIVE!
Thank you to ALL of the generous families for your donations at the CSF Gala last Saturday evening. The Online Auction is open until October 28th and features more than 250 unique items, including great local deals & steals. Participants can register and Bid for Kids! at https://e.givesmart.com/events/dxK/.
All proceeds benefit Coronado Unified schools and students.
6th Grade Camp
- If your child will not be attending camp, please email dollyanne.hutchins@coronadousd.net
- Any student who requires medications, nutritional supplements, including vitamins, that are not included on the pink health form, MUST complete and turn in the medical authorization form signed by a doctor by Friday, November 8, 2019. All medications must be labeled with student name and school and placed in a Ziploc bag. This bag must be turned in to CMS Nurse McMahon no later than November 15, 2019. ISF Winter Sports
Winter sports registration is open until November 8th!

To register:
1. Log on or create an account at www.athleticclearance.com
2. Select Coronado Middle School in the drop down menu (selecting Coronado CIF will register you for High School and can not be transferred over)
3. Turn in all paperwork, TOGETHER, to the CMS front office. Please do not submit documents individually, they will not be accepted for registration.
Paperwork includes:
- signed online confirmation page
- sports physical, if not already submitted for the 2019/20 school year,
- payment online or by check(made out to ISF) or cash.
Practice and Game days have not been scheduled as of yet. Updates will be posted as soon as those days and coaching is solidified.
