GHS Careers in Industries Week

Students at Gainesville High School participated in Careers in Texas Industries Week September 25-29. The GHS learning sessions were held during both lunch periods, with a different career focus each day. Students who were interested in these fields were encouraged to sign up to attend to hear about the profession and the educational path to help them achieve their career goals. Read more...

Learning Ladder Earns Rising Star Award

Congratulations to the Lil Leopards Learning Ladder daycare, located inside Edison Elementary. Under the new ownership of Kitie Hermes and Director Sheila Smith, the facility applied for Texas Rising Star provider status and not only achieved it, but was given a 4 Star Texas Rising Star Status, which is a state accreditation for their program. GHS Alumni Association Hall of Fame Luncheon

The Gainesville High School Alumni Association is holding the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and luncheon on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.

The 2017 Hall of Fame Educator inductees are: V. S. Payne, Susie Rowu, and Marcia Schmitz. The 2017 Hall of Fame Alumni inductees are: Phil Adams (1964), Mack Barnhart (1956), Jane Clayton Hickerson (1972), and Jack Mahan (1916).

Fields of Faith October 4

Gainesville High School students are hosting Fields of Faith on Wednesday, October 4, beginning at 7pm at Leopard Stadium. The guest speaker for the event will be Pat Fallon, Notre Dame national champion under the legendary Lou Holtz. In addition to hearing Fallon’s message, attendees will hear student testimonial and enjoy free food. The local Fields of Faith event is a partnership with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes student organization and local churches of Gainesville and Cooke County.

Mum Orders Due Oct. 6

123 Program Visits Head Start

On Wednesday morning the Cooke County Library "123..." Program visited Head Start. Ms. Kim read about the library and the importance of sharing books. Each child was then given a book to share with their family. Thank you to the CC Electric Coop Association: Operation Roundup, for your support of this program.
