A reminder from our guidance department!
As we mentioned last week, our guidance counselors are starting preparations for helping our students pick and register for classes for the 21-22 school year!
6th & 7th Grade Families: We are excited to begin planning for next school year. A large part of this process is course selection which will occur late January to early February. The school counselors will be providing all current 6th and 7th grade students information in order to review the selection process. Encore elective options will be discussed in detail at this time. Students will begin to choose encore electives that are appropriate for their interests and future planning. Students will have a course selection sheet to help in planning. Students will be asked to share this preliminary selection sheet detailing their choices and discuss it with their families. Families will then register for courses online through PowerSchool. Stay tuned for more information regarding the online registration process.
8th Grade Families: In the month of January, 8th grade students will be introduced to the high school course selection book. Mrs. Montenero, the 8th grade school counselor, will preview possible courses students may select during their 4 years in high school. In late January, the high school counselors will deliver a virtual lesson to our 8th grade students. They will continue to work with students both in large and small groups to discuss four year planning and to help with course selection for their Freshman year. More information will be shared during Freshman Preview Night on January 25th. Stay tuned for more information regarding the online registration process.
If you have any questions for your student's guidance counselor, you can find their contact information at the bottom of each weekly bulletin.
This will be the last weekly bulletin of 2020! Please look for our next weekly bulletin on January 4th, 2021.
Picture Ordering Information & Picture Retakes/Makeups
ORDERING INFORMATION: Your student received an order form to take home with them at the time of their photo being taken. You can also order photos online here: https://orders.schoolandsportpics.com/ordering. Use the drop down menu to select your school.
RETAKE/MAKEUPS: We have scheduled our retake/makeup day for Thursday January 28th. In person students will have photos taken in the afternoon during their school day. Virtual students can come between 4-5pm to have their photo taken.
PAWS Dining For Dollars
Enjoy some delicious pizza while supporting our school! The next Dining For Dollars event is THIS Wednesday December 16th at Domino's on 76th street (414-425-1511). No coupon needed! A portion of the day's sales will go back to Forest Park's parent group, PAWS. Thank you for supporting our school!
Snow/Cold Days Information
As shared in last Friday’s District Newsletter here, Franklin Public Schools will treat Snow/Cold Days as “No School Days” this year. When a decision is made to cancel school due to inclement weather, we will work to notify families before 6am. The following are the ways we communicate the closing and where you can expect to see information:
Parents and Staff will be sent an email and phone call alert.
Students will be sent an email at their @franklinsabers.org account (4K, 5K, & up through 12th grade)
Closing information will be shared with local media so that our information is included in the weather updates that occur on local news.
Staff Shout Outs!
We continue to be impressed with the dedication, professionalism, and perseverance our entire Forest Park staff is showing this year to provide positive learning experiences for our students. We wanted to provide families a way to share positive experiences and/or recognize Forest Park staff! If you would like to recognize a staff member, please take a moment to fill out this Google Form. Administration will then share the positive comments with the staff member. Thank you for helping us continue to recognize and acknowledge our staff for everything they do for the students of Forest Park.

Your student will be watching for you and we will send them out to your car when they see that you have arrived. If you are waiting longer than a few minutes for your student, you may call our main office to check in (414-529-8250).
Please remember to use THIS FORM for ANY attendance related notifications including students leaving early, arriving late or full day absences. Please do not send notes with your student to notify us of these changes.
If you need to pick up (or drop off) items for your virtual or quarantine student, please call our main office at 414-529-8250 and give us the name of your student so we can gather the items and bring them out to your car.
