Tech Tuesdays (3:00pm-3:20pm)

There seems to have been a lot of new technology coming our way this summer and fall. Webpages, Google Drive, Mackin Via (online ebooks), Learn 360 updates, iPads and apps, Edmodo, and the list goes on and on. It is an exciting time, but we need to help each other learn these tools to engage our students. Here is a chance for you to take 20 minutes to learn about a new technology tool or learn a new feature of a tech tool that you are already familiar with.

This is what I have in mind for Tech Tuesdays for September, October, and November. Please let me know if you have other ideas. Thank you.

Tuesday, September 25 - rSchools - Making sure that your web page has the minimum requirement that the district is asking of each educator.

Tuesday, October 2 - Google Drive - How is this different from Google Docs? And...Google email Task List. Make them and use them.

Tuesday, October 9 - Mackin Via - Online ebooks. Students can view these at school or at home. You can have your whole group reading the same book on the computer at the same time. Or, students can each choose their own to read. There are many levels to choose from. The books are linked under the Eagle Lake Media Website. Click on the Media Center tab and drag to Mackin Via Books. Or go to the following website:

One More Suggestion for a Read Aloud!

Don't forget about the Humphrey series by Betty Birney. These books are told from the point of view of Humphrey the hamster who is the class pet. The first title is The World According to Humphrey.
