Nurse's Nook
Please make sure your children’s immunizations are up to date. Call the nurse’s office if you need help with this. As Fall approaches, help your child(ren) eat healthy, exercise, and get enough rest. Remember: with fevers, vomiting, and diarrhea students must stay home a full day once their symptoms are gone.
Please view the October calendar for information on upcoming events at Woodholme! We look forward to seeing you at Family Learning Nights on Oct. 13th & 20th! Teachers will share information about how you can help your child at home!
A Note From the Principal
Dear Families,
Students soon will have an opportunity to receive the Seasonal Flu Vaccine (FluMist) at school. Our school has partnered with the Maryland Partnership for Prevention to offer seasonal flu vaccines. The seasonal vaccine, given as a nasal spray, will protect your child from catching seasonal flu. Outbreaks of the flu can lead to increased school absenteeism and lost days of work for parents. The CDC recommends this vaccine for all children ages 2 years and older. Look for the consent forms which will be sent home with your child in the next few weeks. The school nurse is available to answer any questions you may have.
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to attend Woodholme's Family Learning Nights in order to learn ways you can help reinforce learning at home! Our teachers are creating activities and gathering materials so you can walk away from the sessions with ideas and activities to use at home to strengthen academic skills. This opportunity is different from the Back to School Night events where teachers presented information about classroom procedures and grade level expectations. These events are designed for our parents and families to learn about fun and helpful ways to increase student achievement and strengthen skills by doing activities together at home, so please join us from 6-8 PM on October 13th (for Kindergarten and Grades 1 and 2) and/or on October 20th (for Grades 3, 4, 5) to learn how you can help! Let's work together to help our children succeed!
Thank you!
