*Lunar New Year Celebration – The children will get a chance to perform a dragon dance and eat goldfish using chopsticks.

Tuesday (02/09):

*Class Picture at 11:10
*Library – Please have your child return his/her library book in the BIG baggie provided by the library ladies.

*P.E. – Please have your child wear tennis shoes and shorts under dresses/skirts for physical education.


Wednesday (02/10):

*Computer Lab

*Take Home Readers – Your child will bring home a take home reader to read to the family. Please ask your child to retell the story (characters, setting, problem, solution, text to self)

*Art


Thursday (02/11):

*Center Room

*P.E. – Please have your child wear tennis shoes and shorts under dresses/skirts for physical education.


Friday (02/12):

*NO ”Two by Two Reading”: We will not have 2X2 Reading this week. We did not want our parents to make two trips up to school for 2X2 Reading and the Valentine’s Party.

*Valentine’s Party at 1:00 – The children will open valentines with their friends and enjoy ice cream sundaes. Please make other arrangements for younger siblings. Thank you!

*Poem Book – Enjoy listening to your child chant “I Love You!” Please return the poem book to school on Monday.

Upcoming Events:

*Presidents’ Day: Monday, February 15 – The children will be George Washington for the day.


*Dr. Seuss Day: Wednesday, March 2 – The children will be Thing 1 and Thing 2 for the day and read lots of Dr. Seuss books.


*Last Eureka Science of the Year: Thursday, March 10 – The children will have fun with worms and dirt experiments!


*Rodeo Day: Friday, March 11 – The children will perform western dances for their moms and dads.


*Sight Word Egg Hunt: Thursday, March 24 – The children will hunt for sight word eggs on the big field.


*Field Trip to the Oil Ranch: Thursday, April 14 – The children will go on a field trip to the Oil Ranch in Hockley, Texas to have a hands-on experience with ranch animals, agriculture, and Texas history.
