Charlestown School Updates

For members of our learning community - Dec. 11th, 2015

Filling sails with knowledge and character for a successful life voyage

Reflecting on Parent/Teacher Conferences

Thank you for your participation during our recent conferences. A positive home-school connection significantly benefits your child. We appreciate your support with helping your child to be ready to learn each day. Completing nightly homework and reading, getting a good night's sleep and eating a nutritious breakfast all help our students to be ready to learn!

Gr. 4 PARCC Reports

Earlier this week, we mailed home PARCC reports to all families of 4th graders who participated in the PARCC Assessment last Spring. We hope that the report provides you with helpful information regarding your child's performance. State Assessment results help us, as a learning community, to analyze our practices and make adjustments to best meet the learning needs of all students.

What have we been up to lately??? See some great photos below

LearnZillion

One great resource that we like to share with parents is a free website called LearnZillion. You can access free video clips that show you the strategies that we use to help students to solve problems aligned with the Common Core State Standards.

Harvest Food Drive

Thank you for your support with our recent Harvest Food Drive. Our district schools compete to see which school can donate the most items in comparison to their student enrollment numbers. We are happy to report that we had the highest ratio of donations and will continue to proudly display the Harvest Food Drive banner in our cafeteria.

Please, no toys at school

We request that students keep their toys at home and not bring them in to school unless requested for a class lesson or activity.
