A note from our 4th Grade Classes

Our students have been working extremely hard up in 4th grade. In Reading, we have been working on Nonfiction Main Ideas and Details. In Math, we have been working on Place Value and Computation. In Social Studies, we have been working on Timelines, Primary/Secondary sources, and Ohio Tribes. In Science, we started out the year making Solar Ovens. Students used their Solar Ovens to make S'mores. This activity was a huge success!!! During Science, students have also learned about Ecosystems and are now studying fossils. 4th Grade Rocks!!!

A message from our School Counselor

Hello West Broad Families,

It's been a great year thus far with a lot of talk about mindfulness. Mindfulness exercises give students the tools necessary to be in control of their emotions and to be fully present so they can learn and focus. In addition to mindfulness, we have focused on specific topics for the month. In September, we talked about what a school counselor does and how I can help your student be the best they can be. For October we learned all about bullying and what to do if you see it happening and how we can prevent it from continuing, "See something, say something". November is dedicated to learning about Colleges, Careers & Services. I will be visiting your child's classroom to expose students to the many careers and opportunities that exist in our world today.

Claire S. Shaheen M.Ed.
