Message from Jeanne Krapfl
It’s January and a time that many decide to do New Year’s Resolutions. What is yours? How will you be the best you? How do we help our Cypress Cubs be the best students? We just finished our middle of the year assessments and will be analyzing student growth from assessments taken in the beginning of the year. It’s a time for goal setting and making a plan for EVERY student’s individual needs in order to do their very best on end of the year assessments. Parents/Guardians we need your help with this mission as we keep the focus on learning and student growth.
- Be committed to helping your child read. It’s not a simple task, but making growth and learning is as simple as reading! Be on the lookout for documents coming home in the Tuesday folders to help families with this process.
- Make a New Year’s Resolution to arrive to school on time as many grade levels start their day with reading and reading is the subject that unlocks all other learning content. Students who struggle to read text will automatically have lower test scores and lower report card grades in Math, Science, Social Studies, and especially in Writing.
- Make a Resolution for your child to come to school every day as we know every minute counts! When student’s miss a day, they return feeling lost, frustrated, and it’s not easy catching up. If your child is out, call the school and work can be put together to go home.
I thank you all for your partnership, support, appreciation, and most importantly the love you give to your children! Happy New Year Cypress Cubs!
