TRANSFER OPTIONS
Auto Admit Season for Spring 16
Auto admit is an invitation to one of the 4-year institutions (UHM, UHWO, UHH) for a seamless transfer in Fall 2016. If you accept the invite you will not have to apply for the UH system 4-year school for spring and you will not have to pay the application fee.
The criteria is that you are in your final semester to earn your ASNS degree or have one class left to complete after spring. The invitations went out on February 1st so if you did not receive one via your hawaii.edu email and you meet the criteria, please let me (Heather, haihara@hawaii.edu) know. Deadline for auto admit acceptance is March 1st. If you are in the Ka'ie'ie program, you are not eligible for auto admit.
Ka'ie'ie
I know Spring 2017 sounds far away but if that is the semester (or later) you plan to transfer to UHM, then the Ka'ie'ie program may be for you. Ka'ie'ie is the transfer program between Leeward and UHM. It is a dual-admission, dual-enrollment program, which means you can take courses at Leeward and UHM simultaneously starting Fall 16. Also, since you start the transfer process early through Ka'ie'ie you will have priority registration upon transferring to Manoa.
Eligibility for the program:
-Have 24 transferable credits completed OR 12 completed and 12 in progress
-Need a 2.0 GPA for residents or a 2.5 for non-residents
-International students needs to have completed ENG 100 or 100E or a passing score on the TOEFL exam
-Cannot have earned a bachelor degree from another institution
-Cannot currently be on probation, suspension, or dismissal at UHM
The priority deadline to apply for Ka'ie'ie is February 1st (final deadline is March 1st). Please note the application does require the UHM $70 application fee.
