DeSales COVID-19 Testing

December 18, 2020

Dear DeSales Families,

Earlier this week, NYS designated both the City and Town of Lockport a yellow zone. As DeSales is now part of this yellow zone, in order to return to school on Monday, January 4th, we first need to test 20% of our students and staff for COVID-19. At this time, our hope is that 20% of our student body and faculty/staff members will volunteer to do this required testing to keep our school open for in-person instruction.

We have contracted with the Niagara Apothecary Pharmacy to provide mid-nasal rapid COVID-19 antigen tests to our students and staff. This will be done at no cost for all participants. Testing will be done by appointment only on Sunday, January 3rd from 9:00-11:30 am at DeSales. Please visit the following link to sign up:

A consent form for students and staff participating in the test needs to be filled out and brought with you on January 3rd. You may print the required consent form here, and if a parent signs their child up before the end of the school day Monday, we will print out a form and send it home with the student.

Although it is a rapid test, in order to efficiently run the testing clinic, only participants testing positive will be notified following the completion of all the tests.

If your child is experiencing any COVID symptoms, please do not wait for the testing on January 3rd. Contact your health care provider for guidance.

Please be mindful over the holiday break to stop the spread of COVID-19 from affecting our school. Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

Take care,

Mrs. Rahill, Principal
