Weekly Message... Resilience
CMS Families...
It's definitely been a challenging week for everyone within our Learning Community. Social media posts leading to safety concerns at school; working closely with local police; and collaborating with Student Support Teams to ensure we met the needs of all students, staff and families all played into our daily routine. I am extremely proud of my staff for adjusting and adapting to ensure students were comfortable, as well as, our Student Support Team. In the end, students' immediate needs are always going to be our focus.
I want to send out a sincere THANK YOU to Chief Dowd and Lieutenant Mason and their staff of officers who not only rose to the occasion, but went above and beyond to meet our overall safety needs. It's such a great feeling to know that there are so many caring, professional people in our town who share in our passion for students and safety.
Finally, I was very excited to hold a Parent / Caregiver Q&A Session this morning. Our entire Student Support Team and I met with over 100 parents to answer questions and listen to feedback. It was a great session and I left feeling confident that we are on a path of continuous growth, but created a deeper connection between home and school. I wish to thank everyone who took the time to join us on the video call.
I know going into next week there will be some anxiety and concerns. Please know we will be out in front and working to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. Remember that we can be reached at anytime to answer you questions or concerns.
I have added a couple of resources below in PDF format that will help assist you in talking with your kids.
I am so fortunate to be part of a great educational team and such a strong learning community!
Wishing everyone a great week.
Yours in education,
Dean W. Packard - Principal
