Joining #OurPES

Mrs. Ryan Mansell

Join us in welcoming Mrs. Ryan Mansell, our new STEAM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Arts/Math) Specialist! Mrs. Mansell is coming with her family from Texas where she previously taught STEAM. We are very excited to be able to offer our Pandas this enriching special. Tune in on Tuesday morning to 92.7 FM to hear from Mrs. Mansell herself about what will be happening in her class.

PAWS Patrol Is Back

Attention Fourth Grade Families:

Your child is invited to keep our school safe by being a "PAWS" patrol.

PAWS patrols will open doors, help younger students, and model PAWS in the car rider line. Your child will be assigned 4-5 weeks to do this so that everybody who is interested has a chance to participate.

If your child is a car rider, you will drop him or her off at the mailbox between 7:20-7:28. Ms. Jacob will be there to supervise. If your child is a bus rider, he/she will report to the main office upon arrival and then join us.

Please fill out this FORM by Wednesday, 9/21 We will create a schedule and share it with you on Wednesday, 9/28. Contact Ms. Jacob with any questions:

Monster Dash Artwork Competition Winner!

Thank you to all the Pandas who submitted their monster drawings for our Monster Dash artwork competition! We received so many fantastic drawings it was very hard for our Panda staff voters to choose. However, after multiple rounds of voting and a close final vote, we are so excited to announce that our winning artist is Eleanor Plante from Mrs. Sturdivant’s kindergarten class! Congratulations Eleanor! Look for her winning design on this year’s Monster Dash t-shirts.

BOG Test - 3rd Grade

On Tuesday, our 3rd graders took their Beginning of Grade Test! Please be on the lookout for a letter and their score report in the USPS mail. Students are NOT expected to be proficient on this exam. This data provides a baseline from which to work throughout the course of the year. Join us for a parent information night on Wednesday, October 12 from 5:30 to 6:30 for more information regarding 3rd-grade testing.

Carpool Reminders and Transportation Changes

If you need to change PM transportation, please call the front office before 2:15 PM with any changes for the day. They will ensure that your child's classroom teacher gets the message.

Join the PTA!

Did you know that the PTA covers the costs of field trips for all students, manages and funds Panda Packs (backpack feeding program), and helps support teachers’ classroom supply needs among many other things? Just joining the PTA goes a long way in supporting our students and teachers. While we are happy to help connect you with volunteer opportunities, volunteering is not required. Membership is open to parents/guardians, extended family, community members, and faculty, and it only takes a few minutes to join. Use the following link to join today: Be a part of all the great plans that the PTA has to help support #OURPES!

PTA Classroom Parent Communication

This year, the PTA is bringing back the position of Classroom Parent - a parent volunteer from each classroom, who will be in charge of sending out information to their class. This information may be reminders for school-wide events, may be from the PTA regarding volunteer opportunities and fundraisers (such as the Book Fair, Thrift Shop and Monster Dash), or may be class-specific events and information (such as Sign Ups for class parties, and recruiting in-person volunteers for the teacher). We are here to help make information more readily available regarding the school and classroom needs, and to assist our teachers.

We need you to opt-in to these emails from your Classroom Parent, so please complete the questionnaire below. This will be the only way the Classroom Parent will be able to contact you directly, as we cannot collect contact information from the school. If you do not wish to opt-in, you do NOT need to complete a form.
