Foussat Weekly Happenings

Good Evening Foussat Families,
This has been another great week at Foussat with Mother Nature giving us a few days of beautiful California weather. For those of us who have never lived outside of California, it's hard to imagine living in places where the thermometer is in the teens or colder! Even with everything that is going on with Covid, we have many reasons to be thankful for!
- Earlier today you should have received a link to register and give parental permission for onsite rapid Covid testing when available. Administration of a Covid test would only take place if a student has been exposed to a positive Covid individual and you have pre-registered your student. Anytime there is close contact with a positive Covid individual you will be notified of the exposure and the need for testing.
- If your student is experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please do not send them to school. The Omicron variant continues to have an impact on everyone both at school and at home and we greatly appreciate your effort in helping to keep all of our students and staff safe.
- As Covid-19 continues to evolve, the guidelines we are required to follow are updated. If there is a positive case in class, we now notify the entire class, students now may remain at school as long as they are symptom free and have a negative Covid test on day 3,4, or 5. Any student not able to test must remain at home for 10 days and return on the 11th day.
- If you have not yet ordered your free rapid Covid test from the federal government, you may use this link below to order up to 4 kits per household.
- A reminder once again that if you are using the drop off lane, do not leave your car unattended. Doing this creates a backup of cars and defeats the purpose of having a drop off lane. Please treat the staff that is there directing traffic with respect and understand that we are all trying to keep your student, as well as everyone else, safe.
- Next week is The Great Kindness Challenge Week. Everyday students will have an opportunity to show some kindness to their fellow students, teachers and families. Encourage your student to be an active participant in the planned activities!
That's all for now, have a safe weekend and ... don't forget to tell you children how much you love them and appreciate them. And of course, take time to read as a family every night!
