DI TEAMS at GLOBALS

What an incredible experience for our learners! Nearly 1,200 Destination Imagination teams from around the world at our Global Finals 2019! Our Midlothian ISD Destination Imagination Teams impressed! All 6 MISD teams placed in the top 20 at Globals this weekend!

Our Curious Chameleons earned 11th place out of 73 teams! The Trying Tigers earned 8th place out of 63 teams, and our Service Ninjas won 6th place out of 77 teams!

While our teams all performed at their best and earned recognition, I am most proud of the lessons they learned along the way. These teams learned about problem solving, creating solutions, team work, communication, and creativity. They practiced flexibility and openness to new ideas. They learned acceptance and tolerance when things did not quite go their way. They learned life-long skills that will serve them well in their futures. I am incredibly proud of the work they did, and the solutions they created! They are outstanding!

Destination Imagination is not possible without Team Managers, and we have the best! Kim Moss, Casey Ballard, Emily Stanley, and Christina Teufel are rock stars! These leaders have worked countless hours coaching our kids to be their personal best. They provided support without providing solutions. This week, they became camp counselors - late nights, early mornings, lots of entertainment, counting / re-counting kids, calming nerves, and creating fun! I'm not sure how they are still standing! These leaders created an amazing opportunity for our learners and achieved great results, and I am so incredibly proud!

To the parents of these students: Well done! Thank you for your unrelenting support of our Destination Imagination program. From practices to materials to traveling and all the things in between, we appreciate ALL you have done to get the kids to this level of competition. It's been a long road, but I am confident your child has created memories they will cherish for years to come. Thank you for the sacrifices you made to make this happen!
