MAP testing
Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing is August 28 - September 18
Following the start of the 2023-24 school year, the district's online adaptive assessment, Measures of Academic Progress (MAP), will be administered to all students in grades 1-8. The MAP testing window will open on August 28 and run through September 18. Students in grades 2-8 will take two assessments: reading and mathematics. Grade 1 will take mathematics only. Please check with your child's teacher about their testing schedule so there are no conflicts if appointments need to be scheduled during this time.
These assessment results will continue to be used (1) by teachers to assist them in differentiating lessons in reading/language arts and mathematics; as well as (2) to measure student academic growth. Students' fall assessment reports will be made available to parents later in the school year.
Picture day is September 7
Be dressed and ready for photos! Pictures will be taken outside and all students will be photographed.
There is nothing to hand in before picture day. You will receive a proof order form or an email from Stuart-Rodgers Photography with a link to your online gallery about 2-3 weeks after picture day.
Please note: Rain Date will be September 14
Student Services meetings
Parent/guardian meetings return to in-person
In the 2023-24 school year, the Student Services Department will return to in-person meetings. All meetings related to special education (Domain Reviews, Eligibility Determination, and IEPs) and 504 Plans will be in person at your school. If a parent requires a remote option, we can arrange meetings over Zoom. Thank you, and we look forward to returning to face-to-face collaboration in person with our families!
What's happening at the PTO
Willowbrook students and staff will be participating in the Walk for Willowbrook as a fundraising event to raise money for additional pieces of playground equipment. On the day of the event, students and staff will walk around the track next to the elementary school with an on-campus community party following the conclusion of the walk.
Please help us provide a memorable experience by supporting our efforts in the following ways:
Help your Willowbrook student raise money. All donations can be made through the Omella fundraising platform: https://omella.com/8g2tu
Cheer on the walkers during the event from 2:30-3:10 p.m.
Celebrate with the community at the after-party from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Kona Ice and Willowbrook Wildcat paws will be available for purchase.
Want to get involved? Check out our fall clubs
Willowbrook School offers many opportunities for students to participate in various clubs and activities. These clubs are facilitated by building staff and run within the building. There is a wide range of activities from which students may choose. Click on the link to see more detailed information about our fall clubs. Registration opens on Monday, August 28 and closes on September 6.
Want to join band or orchestra? It's not too late!
If you missed our open house/registration night from the spring or are new to District 30, you can still sign your child up for band or orchestra lessons for this school year! Orchestra is open to current 4th and 5th grade students, and band is open to current 5th-grade students.
If you have questions or would like to know more about the program, please contact our instrumental music directors. We look forward to hearing from you!

Make sure your health forms are up to date
Kindergarteners and students new to Willowbrook are required to provide the school with an Illinois health exam form with an immunization record and a physical, which was completed within one year prior to the first day of school. Kindergarteners and new students will also need to hand in a completed eye exam and dental form. The forms may be found at District 30 Health Forms. If your child will be participating in a Willowbrook sports club, it is required that your student have a health exam that was completed within one year prior to the last day of the club on file in the health office.
Second graders will need to turn in a dental form this school year by May 2024. If your student will be keeping allergy or asthma medication or any other medications in the health office, a current health care plan from your physician is required.
Before any medication can be dispensed, the school must receive written instructions and a signed permission form from the student’s physician and parent. All medications must be properly labeled and kept in the Health Office. Parental permission must also be obtained for non-prescription medication. Please contact the Health Office at 847-400-8860 or lmullen@district30.org if you have questions.
