Our elementary fundraiser ran from September 6-20. Thanks to all of our students who worked so hard to help earn money for our school! We raised over $20,000 - way to go!

Homecoming 2019

September 30 - October 4 was Homecoming Week at USC. We had great participation for dress-up days and door decorating. We ended the week with a great pepfest!

Wetland Lyceum

The Prairie Ecology Bus Center spent two days with our elementary students teaching them about water quality and wetlands. It was a great learning experience!

USC Elementary students will begin Makerspace activities on Monday, November 4th. Students will go to the media center to take part in Makerspace activities on a rotational basis. We can't wait to see what our students will create during this time!

The USC Elementary Makerspace is a place for students to unlock creativity and imagination through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) based projects. These projects help students turn knowledge into action in a hands-on, innovate environment designed to promote both individual and team-based learning.

USC will be celebrating Veterans Day with an assembly on Monday, November 11th. The assembly will be in the High School Gym at 9:00 am. We would like to invite everyone to join us for this special event.

Students, staff, and guests of the assembly are encouraged to dress in Red, White, and Blue!

This August the USC School Board once again approved a plan to implement up to three Flexible Learning Days in the event of emergency closings during the school year. With the plan in place, students and teachers will do school work from home on up to three days when Flexible Learning is implemented.

PK-4 students will complete hands-on learning activities during the day and online work if students have WiFi and devices available. Students in grades 5-12 will log into Schoology, USC’s online learning site, and communicate with teachers to complete the tasks assigned. These potential days away from the school building would not be rescheduled as face-to-face school days.

Families and students will be notified in several ways that a Flexible Learning Day has been called: through the school messaging system from Superintendent Fleming, via the school website, via the school’s official Facebook page, and, if possible, in conjunction with the school closing announcements on television and radio.
