1F Weekly News
January 17 - January 20 (Short Week)
A Note From Ms. D
It has been another great week in grade 1. We had many exciting events such as our Personal Narrative Writing Celebration and the issuance of the students' dragon bands today. Ms. Catherine Bae ('Ms. Cat') joined our class for observations and jumped right into some 'getting to know you' activities as she led the class on Wednesday while I attended Math curriculum development meetings.
Ms. Cat will stay with us through next week as a co-teacher and observer in our class then will take over leadership full time on Jan. 24 (if all goes according to plan). If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me or contact the lower elementary office.
Please be reminded that there have been major changes to the entrance and exit procedures for our campus that will take effect starting on the Sunday the 17th. Details are listed below.
Our Math coordinator Ms. Little will be hosting a talk about our upcoming place value unit on Jan. 17th. A google form was sent out last week for sign ups, if you need that form re-sent please respond to this email and let me know.
Finally, I just want to remind everyone about the parents and principals' coffee that will be hosted on the 19th. Details are listed below for that event as well.
New Entry to Campus Procedures
Starting January 17th, 2016 there will be some changes for students and parents entering the ASD Campus supporting student safety.
All students will be required to scan their Dragon Wristband entering and exiting the campus. It is recommended that you remind your child to wear their wristband daily. Replacement Dragon bands may be purchased at the front desk of the Administrative entrance for 50 qr. Wristbands were sent home with your child today. Please encourage them to keep it in a safe location over the weekend and each night.
Your child's dragon band will be labeled with their name by a key tag. We kindly ask parents to keep this label on the wristband for easy identification.
Parents and domestic staff will not be permitted through Gate 5 for morning drop off. Students may enter through Gate 5 using their wristbands and teachers will be there to supervise starting at 7:40 AM. Domestic staff that are not accompanied by parents will not be permitted through any gate; Parents wishing to accompany their children to classes are asked to enter through Gates 8 & 10.
Pick-up procedures will remain the same, parents and domestic staff will be able to enter and exit the campus through Gate 5 from 2:45 - 4:15 PM. Pick up procedures for PACT Tuesdays and our Pre-K Students will also remain the same, parents and domestic staff will be able to enter through Gate 5 at 12:15 PM.
We kindly ask parents and guests to enter through Gate 8 during the school day.
We thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we work to keep our school safe and continue the improvements to the ASD campus.
Sincerely,
Ms. D
