All that matters to him / her is what you say on seeing the report card.”

Report Cards

Report cards for Trimester 1 will be sent home on Friday, November 20. This year, the distribution of report cards will be different.

K-2nd grade families will receive an email from their homeroom teacher with a copy of the report card. These report cards are standards-based and will list skills for the different subject areas. Teachers will use a 3-point scale to reflect the progression of each skill.

3rd-5th grade families will receive an email from our messenger system with your child's report card attached. This will be new for us, but we are excited about this new distribution system. These report cards will have traditional grading (A,B,C) for all subject areas. Specials will be Pass (P) or Incomplete (I).

Our goal is to make sure that parents know how students are doing in regards to grade-level skills. We want to avoid other factors into grades that may not reflect an accurate picture of the student's learning (work ethic, behavior). Yet, we also need to have evidence on how students are developing with skills. If a child is not turning in or showing the teacher their work, the teacher may not be able to give a grade. In these cases, Incompletes (I) may be considered. For these cases, your child's teacher will communicate with you ahead of time.

Fall MAP Reports

Earlier this year, many of our students were administered the MAP assessment in the areas of math and reading. We traditionally send these results with report cards. This year, MAP reports will be available for families to pick up in the main office. We will look for ways to send these electronically in the future.
