“Your child is least interested in what the report card says.
All that matters to him / her is what you say on seeing the report card.”

K-2nd grade families will receive an email from their homeroom teacher with a copy of the report card. These report cards are standards-based and will list skills for the different subject areas. Teachers will use a 3-point scale to reflect the progression of each skill.
3rd-5th grade families will receive an email from our messenger system with your child's report card attached. This will be new for us, but we are excited about this new distribution system. These report cards will have traditional grading (A,B,C) for all subject areas. Specials will be Pass (P) or Incomplete (I).
Our goal is to make sure that parents know how students are doing in regards to grade-level skills. We want to avoid other factors into grades that may not reflect an accurate picture of the student's learning (work ethic, behavior). Yet, we also need to have evidence on how students are developing with skills. If a child is not turning in or showing the teacher their work, the teacher may not be able to give a grade. In these cases, Incompletes (I) may be considered. For these cases, your child's teacher will communicate with you ahead of time.

Art to Remember
If you wish for your child to participate in Art to Remember this year, please don't forget to drop off your art project at school. Make sure your child's first and last name is written on the back of the artwork and place it inside a large ziplock bag to protect it. There is an Art bin located in the front lobby for collection. The due date is Monday, November 16th. If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your support! Mrs. Hauser
October is almost over already! Please have students who have completed their October DEAM calendars take a picture of them and submit them. K-2 students should upload them to their PE SeeSaw Page and 3-5 students should email them to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please print or copy down your November DEAM Calendar (See Below). Remember, this is something that can be done IN ADDITION to the weekly PE Lessons.
