Science: We will continue investigating air by making parachutes and exploring what happens when you push on air.
Language Arts: We will be writing a narrative story about a time we went somewhere fun with a friend! We will also continue learning about adjectives and antonyms.
Social Studies: We will be reviewing our rights and responsibilities as citizens in our school and community.
GTi: Students in the GTi program, will finish working on their product for their "I wonder" project. Our plan is for students to present their projects to our class and Ms. Malone on February 14th!
Valentine's Day Information
On February 14th, we will celebrate Valentine's Day with two special activities!
The first activity will be a class pizza party during lunch with just our class. If your child would like to have pizza with us, please send in $2 cash to cover the price of pizza, a juice box and a cookie. Make sure to put the money in a labeled envelope so it doesn't get mixed up or lost! If your child would prefer to not have pizza, please plan to send a disposable sack lunch. This is also when we will be exchanging valentine cards and we will need a special place to put them! Your child's at home project will be to decorate a bag or box for our valentines. Please make sure your child has an opening in his/her bag or box big enough to fit small cards/trinkets. Students can start bringing these in to school on Wednesday, February 12th. Your child is also welcome to bring in valentines for each student in our class, but I am unable to send home a class list due to confidentiality.
The second activity will be our class party hosted by our fabulous room moms from 2:00-3:00. They have done a great job organizing and are looking for volunteers to help set up at 1:45 as well as volunteers to send in items. Parents are welcome to join us for the afternoon party! Thank you SO much to those of you that have already signed up. There are still some spots left if you would like to help! You can use the link below to sign up:
This week's math WOW (website of the week) is Snowy's Friend Addition. In this game, students will choose the fact family they would like to work on. They will avoid fire balls and ice puddles but collect all of the snow balls and beat each level to recieve a special gift to help build your snowman. http://www.multiplication.com/games/play/snowys-friend-addition
