SHS Updates and Reminders

The Silk Hope School family hopes that your family came through the most recent hurricane without injury or loss. There was widespread power outage in our community with several families still out of power at the time of this posting.

The PTA will be holding its first general meeting of the year October 22 at 6:30pm and we would like for you to join us. There will be a business meeting where you will learn more about the Silk Hope School PTA, it’s various initiatives, and how you can become involved. The meeting will be followed by a showcase of digital learning, a sampling of the tools and programs we use to engage, enhance, and extend learning for our students.

READvolution and Power Play

READvolution and Power Play are two programs that are part of a partnership between Chatham County Schools and the Carolina Hurricanes. K-5 families, just a reminder to read 20 minutes, five nights a week and log your time and books read. 6-8 students, don’t forget to log your 60 minutes of physical activity. For more information about READvolution and Power Play visit the Silk Hope School website or contact your child’s teacher.

Unity Day

Silk Hope School will be participating in Unity Day October 24. Unity Day is a day to take a stand against bullying and unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. We want to come together and send one giant message of hope and support. Wear orange to color our school and community, showing that our school believes that no child should ever experience bullying.

Events for the week include:

  • The Silk Hope Eagles Softball team will travel to JS Waters Tuesday and will host Pollard Thursday. Our Cross Country team will have a meet at home Monday and at Horton Wednesday.

You can find a copy of this message as well as other important information on the Silk Hope School website. Also, don't forget to follow us on Twitter @SilkHopeEagles and on Facebook.
