Pick Up Procedure Reminders
With all grade levels back at school, we wanted to share a few reminders about picking up students at the end of the school day.
- There is a parking pass system in use for the front parking lot from 12:00-12:15. If you have a yellow, green, or blue pass, please plan to arrive no more than 2-3 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
- Please hang your parking pass on the rearview mirror or hold it up for the supervisor as you enter the lot.
- Cars without parking passes can come into the lot beginning around 12:15.
- Your help in keeping the roads around West safe and cleared of traffic is greatly appreciated.

Kids Heart Challenge
West Elementary School’s kick-off for the Kids Heart Challenge began on January 11th during P.E. class. Students have learned why we participate in the challenge and how they can help. All donations will be collected online through the link below for the American Heart Association. West also receives money for the P.E. department to purchase new equipment. All students will participate in the Kids Heart Challenge during P.E. classes the week of February 1st. We will be doing cardio and heart healthy activities along with learning the importance of being active. For more information (and to check out the leader board) visit our West team page here.
Thanks for your support,
Mrs. Walls
Wildcats Read to Succeed - Reading Incentive Program
"Wildcats Read to Succeed" is an 8-week program for West students to earn prizes for reading. The program is February 1 - March 28. Reading Logs must be submitted by a parent online using the Reading Log Submission Form by April 7th. Remote students received a paper Reading Log 1/14 and in-person students will receive a Reading Log the week of 1/25. Contact WPO parent Sarah Kovarik at kovarik.sarah@gmail.com if you have questions. Note: Six Flags paused its reading program for 2021, but extended the deadline if you earned a pass last year. See the Six Flags website for details.
