Joyceville PS Week Ahead

October 19-23

Cultivating Critical Thinking and Creativity in Responsive Learning Environments

Big image

Many exciting moments at JPS this week...so many things to celebrate...school events, sports, and breakthrough learning moments! One of my favourite moments was when one of our youngest students (still 3 years old!) grabbed my hand and said, "Come see Mrs. Campbell, I can write my name!" with huge excitement and pride! Another moment, was when when one our Grade 5 students, who struggles with communication, engaged me in lengthy conversation about who he was voting for in the student vote and why! It was also, heat warming to see the leadership of our 7/8s during the colour house activities and staff and students having fun together!

To all staff, thanks for your continued efforts to make the experiences of our students positive and successful. I know that times have been different with the job action of both unions. Your commitment to student learning and safety during this time is clearly evident.

I am thinking of sending home a school newsletter about Halloween activities later this week. If there are events happening or info you would like included (e.g. about costumes?!), please let me know!
