The End is Near
Greetings Woodcrest families,
I am not one for keeping track of the days left of a school year. This year is an exception. There is a lot happening in our classrooms.
This week, both onsite and at home, there are fun community building celebrations occurring. Each of you should have received information about the Woodcrest Countdown from your child’s homeroom teacher. In addition to homeroom celebrations, fourth grade students and their families have enjoyed coming for a special photo opportunity with their teachers as we wish them farewell and good luck at Westwood Intermediate School.
This week also includes material drop-off opportunities for our Extended Flexible Learning families. Today, many of our third and fourth grade students came to the building to return learning resources. It was great seeing so many faces and feeling their excitement. Tomorrow, June 3, first and second grade Extended Flexible Learning students will be returning learning resources. Finally, on June 4, we are excited to see Kindergarten families.
The end of the school year is always exciting. This year, the excitement is amplified by a sense of huge accomplishment at reaching this milestone despite the challenges of the year. Thank you all for the partnership to support your child having the best school year possible. We could not do it any other way than JUNTOS ES MEJOR!
Thank you,
John Franke
Outstanding School Fees: How to pay through Campus Parent Portal
As we wrap up the 2020-2021 school year, we encourage families to pay any outstanding fees they may have acquired throughout the school year. Fees could range from technology and iPad insurance to library books and music fees
To check if your family has any outstanding fees and to pay for the fees, login to Campus Parent Portal and click on "Fees" located in the left-hand black column. We are asking for families to pay these fees by June 30, 2021.

App offers free summer meals to Minnesota kids
Hunger Impact Partners, a non-profit organization with the Minnesota Department of Education that promotes free healthy summer meals for kids across the state, is encouraging students and families to download the Summer Eats Minnesota mobile app.
Here’s how it works:
1. Download the free Summer Eats Minnesota app to your cell phone
2. Use the mobile app to find the nearest site providing meals and meal packs by GPS
3. Click on the nearby site and use the Meals Updates tab for more details
4. Kids up to age 18 just show up and eat with no registration required
There are free meal sites across the state at schools, bus stops, libraries, community centers and parks. The app provides location, directions to the site and hours and days of distribution. More sites are added daily. For more information, visit the Hunger Impact Partners website.
Lost and Found
As the school year comes to an end, our Lost and Found area is still filled with treasures. As a way to help parents see what is there, we will have some tables set up outside (near the main entrance) with all the Lost and Found items. The last date for viewing will be on Monday, June 7 from 3-4 pm. On June 8, all the remaining items will be donated.
From the health office:
If your child has medication in the health office, they will be sent home in your child's backpack on the last day of school, unless different arrangements are made with the school nurse. Please call the health office at 763-600-5804 if you have any questions, or would like to make arrangements for medication pick up."
